This submission is made on behalf of the UWA Centre for Health Law and Policy. It reflects the authors’ views on proposed reforms to Western Australia’s guardianship and administration legislation, with a particular focus on issues of legal capacity, decision-making frameworks, restrictive practices, and rights protection for people with disabilities. Our recommendations are grounded in contemporary legal and human rights principles and draw on our collective expertise in health law, disability law, legal theory, regulatory theory, and public policy.
