Activity: Service and engagement › Public lecture, debate or seminar
Description
In both legal and practical terms, the law affects what people can do with their own bodies and what control a person (or the state) can exert over another person’s body. This is of consequence for trans and intersex people, as it affects their bodily autonomy, health, and the legal recognition of their identities. Aidan’s presentation critically explores the Australian law concerning bodily autonomy as it affects trans and intersex young people, providing an overview of how it has changed over the past decades and how it might reform further in the future.
