Masterclass - Possibilities for Environmental Action

Activity: Conferences and workshopsParticipation in workshop, seminar or course

Description

Join us next week for a Masterclass with Drew Hubbell, Associate Professor of British Literature and Director of the Environmental Studies program at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove. Additional commentary will be provided by Rachel Watts, Sam Mayne, Rob Briggs and Sven Ouzman.

This Masterclass will draw on Drew Hubbell's research into the poetics of environmental action. Historically, narrative fictions have mediated social change theories and strategy debates from scholars and environmentalists to the general public, helping to establish legitimation for environmental causes.

At a time when anthropogenic climate change is recognised as a crisis requiring fundamental responses, many have suggested that stories have the power to motivate action.
