Description
This training workshop is designed to provide an overview of impact evaluation methodologies and their application to agricultural and environmental interventions, with a heavy emphasis on applications to developing countries. Starting from a conceptual discussion of the difficulties in making causal statements about the impact of an intervention, it will then proceed with a discussion of the potential for experimental approaches to address issues of causal inference. It will then continue by discussing three quasi-experimental approaches to impact evaluation: difference-in-differences, propensity score matching and regression discontinuity designs (and its relation with instrumental variables). Facilitator: Dr. Paulo Santos (Monash University).Period | 10 Feb 2020 → 11 Feb 2020 |
