Presentation title: Providing opportunities for student voice in the HASS classroom. Abstract: Providing opportunities for students to voice their opinion and ideas in the classroom can improve student motivation and engagement and be a valuable way for teachers to check for understanding. To prepare our students to be active and informed citizens, we can provide opportunities for students' voices to be heard and considered when teaching the HASS curriculum and relevant general capabilities. This presentation and workshop will include some strategies and ideas on ways to promote student voice in the classroom while addressing the HASS curriculum.
