Challenge based learning offers a practical framework for implementing an inquiry where students aim to create a product/task and then publish their findings and ideas to a broad audience - usually involving technology. The focus for this unit of work was the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12 which aligns well with the Year 6 Economics and Business curriculum content. Expert speakers were included in the beginning stages of the inquiry to spark interest, provide expert knowledge and provide a real world connection for students in relation to the topic. The boys enjoyed the variety and choice of activities included in the inquiry and they became passionate about ethical production and consumption.
