Description
Event descriptionMany people consider Ethics approvals burdensome, time-consuming and bureaucratic. This workshop encourages participants to bring live or future ethics applications to workshop through the UWA ethics process. This Masterclass will not only help you discern between the different types of ethics, but will further provide tips on how to approach these applications, who the audience you are writing for is, and how to identify potential ethics risks in your project. This workshop also includes instruction on UWA’s new Indigenous led and co-led ethics approval process, as well as a Q&A segment with Natalie Giles, the Manager of Research Ethics at UWA.
Skills attendees will learn:
Being able to differentiate between personal, situational and institutional ethics
Know how to identify and manage risk to yourself, your research partners and institutions
Understand how to navigate the UWA Ethics and Indigenous Ethics processes
