Dr Debbie Rodan is a well-known researcher with special interests in animal welfare activism, digital media use for social change, and issues around identity construction. She is the author of Identity and Justice: Conflicts, Contradictions and Contingencies (2004, Peter Lang), Disability, Obesity and Ageing: Popular Media Identifications (2014, with Katie Ellis and Pia Lebeck, Routledge) and Activism and Digital Culture in Australia(2018, with Jane Mummery, Rowman & Littlefield). In this ANZCASalon (WA) Debbie will discuss her most current project (with Jane Mummery), Imagining New Human-Animal Futures in Australia to be published by Peter Lang (forthcoming 2022).

Debbie Rodan is an (Honorary) Associate Professor of Media & Cultural Studies at Edith Cowan University in Perth Western Australia.
