Research units


This thesis is dedicated to the investigation into dynamic behavior of power systems integrated with clean energy power sources, and the development of associated state estimators and control methodologies. Small signal stability analysis is also performed on modern electric grids with renewable sources, and the effect of renewable energy penetration on the stability of power systems is investigated, with novel control strategies proposed and implemented. The theories and control methods are verified through extensive simulations based on IEEE Standard power systems. This thesis is a combination of a number of academic articles that have been published in recent years.
