Biography

Euan Harvey is a Professor in Marine Science at the University of Western Australia. He is the coordinator of the Marine Science and is the contact point for levels 1-5 at UWA. He is also a member of the Oceans Institute research leadership team (http://www.oceans.uwa.edu.au/).
He has an undergraduate degree in Parks and Recreation Management from Lincoln University in New Zealand and a Post Graduate Diploma and PhD in Marine Science from Otago University in New Zealand.

Future Research

We have a large research prgramme associated with the Net Conservation Benenfits program funded through Gorgon Offsets in collaboration with CSIRO quantifying and establishing baselines for demersal fish assemblages in the Pilbara region commencing July 2013.
We are collaborating wth the Department of Fisheries on establishing Baselines for the new Marine Parks in the Kimberly and in the Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin region

Teaching

I coordinate and teach into SCIE3304 Field techniques in Marine Science which is a core 3rd year Marine Science unit.
I am also the coordinator for Marine Science Honours at UWA
I also coordinate BIOL4407 Marine Conservation and Fisheries Management which is a 4th and 5th year unit being co taught with colleagues from Agricultural Resource Economics, The Oceans Institute, The Department of Environment and Conservation and The Department of Fisheries.
