Biography

Dr. Alfred Tay completed his PhD degree in Microbiology from University of New South Wales, Sydney. He has been actively involved in University teaching courses, including Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Genetics. Dr. Tay had aided the supervision of many honours students with projects involving multiple organisms such as Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella typhi, Yersinia pestitis, Vibrio cholerea, and Bordetella pertussis. Dr. Tay has developed strong skills in using various bioinformatic knowledges to analyze bacterial recombination pattern, single nucleotide polymorphism phylogenetic relationship, and bacterial population structure analysis.
